Renault Sport Racing have an excellent opportunity to join our team at a tremendously exciting time in our history within Formula 1. As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Materials Section of our Engineering Office at Enstone reporting to the Head of Materials Science.
Materials Simulation Engineer – The Role
You will be the technical analyst for all materials science projects whilst providing FEA analysis and optimisation of high-performance structural components and sub-assemblies in response to: service loads, crash, stiffness, and fatigue requirements. Your duties will include investigating novel FEA modelling methods related to complex materials and conceptual design. You be required to prepare technical reports, specifically for consulting projects such as design reviews, investigations of failures, concept design, feasibility studies and stress analysis.
Materials Simulation Engineer – The Person
We are looking for an individual who has experience of working in a similar role within motorsport. Alongside a degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering, you will have an excellent knowledge of composite and metallic material properties and specifications. Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail are a must, alongside the ability to work under pressure.
Candidates should have experience in the usage of some of the following:
• Abaqus & Hyperworks
• Catia v5
• Optistruct optimisation techniques or Genesis
• Laminate Tools
